Canada Visa Online

Ever wondered how to get a Canada visa online? Let’s first look at why you might want to visit this beautiful country. We will then go into the types, documents required, and eligibility requirements, as well.

Canada is a vast and beautiful country. It is the second largest country in the world by land mass. To put things in perspective that is 3 times the size of India. Because of this there is immense diversity in flora, fauna and people of Canada.

The Niagara and Horseshoe Falls are some crowd favourites, but there’s more! Bear watching, whale watching and the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) are some more beautiful natural wonders. From the trendy bars and clubs of Vancouver, to the Notre-Dame Basilica and Old Quebec – many cultural melting pots await. It’s safe to say that there is something to do for people of all age groups and interests! The climate is generally quite cold, and snow is commonplace. Canada has immense cultural diversity and is a very equitable society – Canadians are known to be very friendly. This article summaries the visa requirements to visit Canada.

Types Of Canadian Visas

In general, there are two types of Canadian visa, temporary and permanent. In this article, however, we will be focusing more on temporary visas.
We can classify most visas this way, so it is easier to keep track. We are not sure if these are officially the only two types though.

The Canada visa that is temporary lives up to its name; a visa that allows you to stay only for a certain period of time. Permanent visas are the opposite, they allow you to reside and stay for longer periods of time in Canada.

Temporary Canada Visa Online

The country offers both single- and multiple-entry visas. The Embassy decides the validity of this, and it is usually temporary.

The Canada tourist visa is generally termed as a ‘visitor visa’. Citizens of India require a Canada visitor visa to enter the country, and these can be obtained in multiple places, including our site. We offer services for this type of Canada visa online, and are reliable and efficient. Some websites may guarantee you an accepted visa regardless of your case, so please be careful of those sites. They might be scamming you.

There is another type of temporary Canada visa for Indians, which is the business visa. The ‘visitor visa’ umbrella covers this as well, but you must submit certain documents along with the existing ones. Later on in this article, you will see details on the documents required as well.

Q: Are There Any Exceptions To This?

As a special case, you could be part of the Indian population that has dual citizenship with the USA, or a USA Green Card. If this is you, you will be exempted from the eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) program. You will still have to carry proper proof of US citizenship, i.e. your passport.

It might be fascinating to note that business and tourist visas are not the only temporary visa facilities available. A Canada student visa is also considered temporary, as well as a foreign work visa. Visas for parents of these students (basically a Canada parent visa), or those visiting family are also temporary. A “Temporary Foreign Workers Visa” also exists, which, as you can see by title, is a (temporary) Canada working visa.

Many people ask if there is a visa on arrival situation for Canada. A visa on arrival service is offered, however, a Canada Visa on arrival for Indians is not permitted.

Documents Required For A Canada Visa Online

Our Tourist Visa and Business Visa website pages do have explicit detail on what documents are needed. If you would like to check them out, please click on the hyperlinked text of each in the previous sentence.

In general, tourist visas of Canada require a bit more paperwork than say, Myanmar or Zambia. That being said, here are the documents you will need:

  1. Valid passport and recent passport-sized photographs
  2. A completed and duly filled application form
  3. Proof of accommodation in Canada
  4. Proof of flight tickets (both onward and return)
  5. If employed, a business card or a PAN card
  6. If employed or currently studying, an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the company/institution must be written out. This should be on the official letterhead, and signed by an authority in the company/institution.
  7. Proof of sufficient funding to undertake your stay in Canada, either by showing Income Tax returns or a GST copy
  8. Invitation letter, if any/applicable, from whomsoever is inviting you in Canada

Documents needed for a business visa are largely the same as well. If necessary, the Embassy may ask you to submit some more supporting documents as well. Although, these are not fixed for all people and vary from case to case.

Canada visa fees are also available on our website. It covers both a tourist and business Canada visa online. This value includes the service charges as well.

What Are The Eligibility Requirements For A Canada Visa?

Visitor visas have some basic entry-level requirements. You must meet the next following conditions, like:

  • Having a passport, or another valid travel document
  • Must be in good health
  • Having no criminal or immigration-related convictions
  • Must be able to convince the immigration officer that you have ties to your home country —such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back
  • You must be able to convince an immigration officer that you will definitely leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • Must be in possession of enough money for your stay. Of course, the amount of money you will need depends on some factors. These include how long you will stay and if who/where you stay (in a hotel, or with friends or relatives)

Things To Do In Canada

Canada has a diverse natural footprint, with surroundings varying from coast to coast. Northern forest lakes, and rugged Rocky mountain range are some examples of this. Banff National Park in Alberta is a picture-perfect scene to behold, and we highly recommend! A World Heritage Site is what it is, so you know that it is well-acclaimed too. Cypress Hills and Wolf Lake are some more interesting places on a similar plane.

So What Else Can You Do In Canada?

On the other hand, if you know Canada for its snow and skiing, you might like our next pick. British Columbia’s Fernie has been a skier’s wonderland since the 1940’s, and brings people from all around to these beautiful slopes. You might then like a change of scenery. If this is the case, you could visit Drumheller in Alberta, which is known as the dinosaur capital of the World. A skull was found here first in the late 1800’s, and its collection has been growing ever since.

Apart from these natural wonders, Canada has much to explore in terms of culture as well. Old Quebec is a walled city in Quebec. Its ancient buildings and old-timey European feel give it a very vintage vibe. It is also home to the world-famous Château Frontenac, as well as the renowned winter carnival. Canada’s capital, Ottawa, as well as its most populated city, Toronto are also must-sees. These are the metropolitan centres of the country, and they are so culturally diverse that you immediately feel it. Eat in one of their many worldly cafes and restaurants, delve into their values and seep in the politeness as you go along. You may even find that you’ve become a nicer person at the end of the trip!

Hopefully by the end of this, you will have become more informed about the Canada visa. Its types, eligibility requirements, and even things to do in Canada may have prompted you to plan your next vacation in Canada.
